Natural Deodorant- Tea Tree & Lavender
This aluminum free deodorant actually works! The therapeutic grade essential oil blend of Tea Tree and Lavender or Orange and Cedarwood helps to kill odor causing bacteria along side the coconut oil. We used coconut oil that doesn't melt until 90 degrees, and blended in local beeswax and cocoa butter for a twist up deodorant stick that stays firm even in hot weather. We used arrowroot powder as well as baking soda to ensure a skin soothing blend and Kaolin clay to help absorb moisture. The scent is mild and gender neutral- you won't be walking around smelling like a flower! A little goes a long way, so apply sparingly, really- a quick dab will do! If you over apply the coconut oil may leave oil marks on clothing. Do not use on broken or irritated skin- if you peel or your skin gets sore you may be sensitive to baking soda. Simply stop using, apply apple cider vinegar using a cotton ball and contact me! I will provide a free replacement stick of my Gentle Deodorant that does not use baking soda but relies on clay and arrowroot starch
If you have been using a commercial deodorant with aluminum, give two weeks of adjustment time for your pores to detox. The job of aluminum in commercial deodorant is to block pores so you do not sweat. Unfortunately, sweating is a natural and healthy thing for our bodies to do to remove toxins from our bodies. As you stop using aluminum, your pores will push out "plugs" of aluminum and you will sweat- a lot! This will pass as your body adjusts to open pores but expect an increase in odor and sweat as this process begins, it will decrease in time. Washing daily with soap and water will help as well as gentle exfoliation with a wash cloth or mild sugar scrub. Apple cider vinegar on a cotton swap can also be used to sooth sensitive skin and kill odor causing bacteria.
